Dajcor Dispatch Spring 2026

President's Message

As I step into the role of Interim President, my focus is on strengthening our commitment to building sustainable, long-term customer relationships. In today’s evolving manufacturing environment, success is no longer defined by price alone - it is driven by reliability, responsiveness, and the ability to consistently deliver value. At Dajcor, we are sharpening our customer-first approach by aligning our teams, processes, and capabilities to better anticipate and support our customers’ needs. Our strength lies in a collaborative, solutions-oriented culture that empowers our people to execute at a high level and deliver results our customers can depend on.

Aluminum Extrusion Industry At A Crossroads

Canada’s aluminum extrusion industry is at a pivotal moment. Ongoing impacts from U.S. Section232 tariffs continue to affect the competitiveness ofCanadian exports, while the domestic market is increasingly challenged by low-cost imports enteringCanada. Together, these pressures are creating sustained headwinds across the industry. In response, Dajcor is actively engaged with a national coalition of aluminum extruders representing approximately 90% of Canada’s extrusion capacity and more than 3,500 direct jobs. This group has secured meetings in Ottawa with elected officials and policymakers to advocate for targeted protections that support the full aluminum value chain- including the critical extrusion sector.Unlike primary aluminum producers operating in global markets, extrusion businesses compete regionally within an approximate 800 km (500 mile)radius. This makes the sector particularly vulnerable to import pressures and underscores the need for balanced trade measures. The coalition is advocating for solutions similar to those implemented in the steel sector, including tariff rate quotas, to help stabilize the market.

With the extrusion industry supporting up to 40,000jobs across Canada when including upstream and downstream activity (per AluQuébec), the importance of timely and effective policy action cannot be overstated.

Strengthening Supply Chains ThroughNorth American Manufacturing

Manufacturers across industries are re-evaluating their sourcing strategies to reduce risk and improve reliability. As global supply chains become more complex, the value of North American manufacturing continues to increase. By partnering with a North American supplier, companies benefit from:
• Shorter and more predictable lead times
• Reduced logistics and transportation risk
• Improved communication and responsiveness
• Greater visibility throughout the production process

Dajcor’s dual-location footprint enables us to support customers with flexibility, consistency, and dependable supply across their operations.

In the Spotlight: SupportingCanadian Manufacturing

Dajcor Aluminum was pleased to welcome Members of Parliament Dave Epp and Randy Hoback to ourChatham-Kent facility for a discussion on the current state of Canada’s aluminum extrusion industry. The visit reinforced the important role Canadian manufacturers play in supporting local economies, while also highlighting ongoing challenges related to global competition and trade conditions. Dajcor remains committed to investing in Canadian manufacturing and supporting the skilled workforce that drives our success.
